Savory Institute and Savory Institute and Africa Centre for Holistic Management (ACHM) are sister organizations who are committed to empowering people to use properly managed livestock to restore grasslands through the practice of Holistic Management.
ACHM owns the Dimbangombe Ranch in Zimbabwe, which is a learning and demonstration site that is successfully using and teaching Holistic Management to improve the lives of the people in the Southern Africa region.
As sister organizations, the Savory Institute and ACHM work together in many ways, including learning from each other and partnering on joint ventures. As a learning site, ACHM shares valuable data with the Savory Institute and in return, ACHM has access to data from other Savory Institute learning sites around the world. When appropriate, the Savory Institute and ACHM engage in joint ventures, such as a USAID programme to establish a Holistic Management training program in Africa.
Holistic Management pioneers Allan Savory and Jody Butterfield founded and are involved with both organizations. However, each of the organizations has its own independent management team and Board of Trustees building a network of Holistic Management supporters and funders. The organizations support each other by sharing new contacts, exploring potential opportunities together and celebrating each other’s victories along the path to success.
