Tony Malmberg
Co-founder
Tony Malmberg is a third-generation rancher. He has also been an inspiration to those who care for the land through his published articles and speeches. As the recipient of many honors from agricultural organizations, environmental and wildlife interests, Tony demonstrates profitable ecological land use that adds value to his community.
As founder and president of Ranchers Management Company, Tony managed ranch properties and consulted for individual ranches in the western United States for nearly twenty years.
Tony owned and operated Twin Creek Ranch, south of Lander, Wyoming, for 31 years. It was one of the first in the West to develop a ranch-recreation program where guests participate in the real ranch experience. The agritourism lodge hosted ranch experience activities, country cuisine dinners featuring ranch-raised foods, and gatherings for educational seminars, company meetings, and family reunions. Economic diversification included Beyond Organic Beef, which markets grass finished beef.
Tony has been a practitioner of Holistic Management for over twenty years and completed Holistic Management International’s Certified Educator course in 2007. He has been to Africa and Argentina studying brittle environments in other parts of the world to better manage resources in the western United States. He attributes his successes to making decisions toward his holisticgoal.
Tony and his wife, Andrea, sold their Wyoming ranch in 2009. They used the Holistic Decision Making Framework in selecting northeastern Oregon and now ranch in Union county Oregon.
