Jody is currently Programme Director for the Africa Centre for Holistic Management’s USAID-funded initiative: Land, Water & Livelihoods Restoration through Holistic Management (Southern Africa).

A former journalist specializing in agriculture and environment, Jody has co-authored and edited numerous books, articles and papers related to Holistic Management with husband, Allan Savory.

Jim Howell

Grasslands CEO / Co-Founder

Jim Howell was raised both in California and Colorado, where his family has ranched since the late 1800s. He graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Animal Science from Cal Poly Pomona, completing his final year as a foreign exchange student at Lincoln University in New Zealand in 1991. Right out of college, Jim cowboyed on a large diversified ranching operation in western Colorado, then managed a 1000-cow pasture-based dairy in east Texas.  From 1994-96, he co-managed (with wife Daniela) the 34,000 acre High Lonesome Ranch (a former learning site of Holistic Management International) in the Chihuahua Desert of southwestern New Mexico.

Daniela Ibarra-Howell

Co-Founder

Daniela was born and raised in Argentina. She studied Agricultural Sciences at the University of Buenos Aires and worked for the Argentine Ministry of Agriculture in the areas of land restoration and desertification control. She further completed a Masters Degree in Natural Resource Management and Economics at Lincoln University, New Zealand (1991-1993).

After meeting her husband, a Certified Educator in Holistic Management for 15 years, Laurie changed the direction of her marketing and public relations work.  She realized the benefit of having all of the decisions made by her clients, her friends and her family simultaneously reflect the triple bottom line both short and long term.

Zachary Jones

Zachary’s holistic foundation is rooted in Twodot Land and Livestock Company, his family’s ranch.  Founded in 1908, Zachary is the 5th generation of his family to manage the 24000-acre resource, located near Harlowton, Montana, USA.

Zachary has founded and currently manages The Simple Group, LLC, an agricultural based consultant firm, and co-founded and manages Yellowstone Grassfed Beef, a wholesale and retail dedicated-to-local beef company.
